This monitor is a great addition to my home office. The screen is clear, and it really helps with multitasking when I’m working on several projects at once. I do wish it was a bit brighter when I’m working outside or in brighter rooms, but for everyday use, it’s perfect.
I recently picked up the 12.1 Inch Portable Monitor by Macsecor for my MacBook Air, and I’m thrilled with how hassle-free the setup was. I’ve struggled with other portable monitors before, but this one was a piece of cake. It connected to my USB-C port effortlessly—just plug it in and you’re good to go!
The display quality is top-notch with its 1080P FHD resolution, offering clear and vibrant visuals. It’s ideal for extending my screen for work or watching videos. However, I was a bit let down by the volume. Even after following the instructions, the sound remained quite soft.
Despite the volume issue, I’m very happy with this monitor and plan to use it frequently. It’s a fantastic addition to my setup, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use portable monitor.
The first thing you’ll notice about this monitor is its wide screen. Unfortunately, I ran into some issues using it with my devices like Samsung DeX. DeX requires a specific resolution that you can’t really adjust, making it a bit annoying to use. Also, keep in mind that this monitor doesn’t offer 1080p resolution due to its screen size.
Compared to other portable screens, this one is a bit thicker, but still portable if needed. However, it doesn’t come with a cover, so it can easily get scratched if you’re not careful when placing it in your bag. On the plus side, it has a built-in kickstand that works well and allows for some angle adjustment. There’s no touchscreen capability, but it does have sound, which is decent but not spectacular—don’t expect surround sound quality.
This isn’t really a gaming monitor, but you can use it for that if you want, just know it’s not optimized for it. I primarily use it as a small side monitor to keep chat windows open while gaming on my laptop. It does have mounting holes on the back for attaching it to a monitor stand, but screws and mounts are not included.
One nice feature is that it doesn’t get very hot. It also includes a DisplayPort, which is a nice touch, though I didn’t notice much difference between using that and the USB-C. Note that if you use the DP, you’ll need to power the monitor with a Type-C to USB cable, whereas a Type-C to Type-C connection handles both power and video.
The color and brightness are decent, though there’s noticeable glare if you use it outdoors. Overall, this monitor is worth considering if you need something small for tasks like reading or monitoring. It can play movies but has its limitations. It’s not the ideal monitor for everyone and comes at a relatively high price point.
Really handy for a secondary screen while traveling. The image quality is solid, but the stand could be a little more robust. Overall, a solid purchase.
I received this product the day after I ordered it. I bought it so I can view multiple things at once while I type my paper. It is so worth the money for this screen.
